Is everyone can register with Startup India?

A private limited company, partnership firm or limited liability partnership can register under the “Startup India scheme”. These business entities must not have a turnover exceeding Rs.100 crores annually and should be in existence for at least ten years after incorporation or registration. This entity should work towards the development and improvement of products, services, or processes.

What are the benefits of registering with Startup India?

Startups can enjoy many benefits under the Startup India Initiative. These benefits can only be accessed if an entity has been recognized by the DPIIT to be a startup. Startups can self-certify compliance with six labor laws and three environmental laws. This is allowed for a total period of five years from the date of incorporation/registration of the entity. Startups have a three year tax exemption, as well as the best intellectual property services and resources that are designed to help them protect and market their IPRs.

Can foreign entity register with Startup India?

Each entity with at least one Indian registered office can register on the startup india. The location preferences are currently only available for Indian states. The government plans to soon open registrations for other stakeholders in the global ecosystem.
